About the Company
At SA Water, our work sustains life. Every day, we deliver safe, reliable water and wastewater services to more than 1.8 million South Australians, supporting healthy communities across our state.
Behind this essential service are people who care. From engineering and science to construction, digital, operations and customer experience, every role plays a part. We bring our authentic selves to work, driven by purpose, supporting one another to deliver work that truly matters.
About the job
This 12-month fixed-term role will strengthen the capability, safety and compliance of SA Water’s regional and outer-metropolitan operational workforce. You will partner with allocated business areas to understand operational priorities, capability risks and compulsory, critical and technical training requirements.
This blended role combines business-facing advice with hands-on training and assessment.
Working with leaders, subject matter experts, internal trainers and assessors, and external Registered Training Organisations, you will turn training requirements into practical solutions. You will assist in the development of training pathways and learning materials, coordinate delivery, and facilitate selected technical training and competency assessments, while supporting technical onboarding and development programs.
You will give leaders visibility of capability requirements, completion gaps and emerging risks; monitor outcomes; and support timely action in line with SA Water’s Competency and governance frameworks.
The role location is flexible and may be based in or near any major regional site or depot. Regular statewide site travel is required, with a company vehicle available for work-related travel.
About the Person
You are practical, curious and keen to help people build the skills needed to work safely and effectively. You build trusted relationships with operational leaders and technical specialists and can turn operational, regulatory and competency requirements into workable training solutions. You may already have relevant training or capability experience or bring strong operational knowledge and a genuine interest in developing your skills in training and development.
Experience in the water, utilities or infrastructure sectors, or in a trade environment, will be advantageous, particularly where this includes exposure to accredited training, competency-based assessment, high-risk work or Verification of Competency.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or related qualification, is desirable; support to build relevant capability may be available for the right candidate.
If you are motivated by improving workforce capability and helping operational teams perform safely and effectively, we would welcome your application.
