About the Job

In this pivotal role as the Manager of Major Development Services, you will lead the major land development function within SA Water, focusing on the development and implementation of complex commercial strategies, land agreements, and water and wastewater servicing strategies for new housing and developments. You will play a crucial role in delivering the Government’s Housing Roadmap, enabling economic and housing growth in South Australia while fostering positive outcomes for SA Water, the South Australian Government and the state’s housing industry.  Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering and managing relationships with stakeholders, government agencies and development industry bodies.

Your responsibilities for this opportunity 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Build and lead an effective team, fostering collaboration and efficient work practices to deliver business and governments goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to position SA Water as the supplier of choice for water, wastewater, and recycled water services.
  • Grow and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to drive successful land development outcomes and customer services.
  • Ensure fit-for-purpose services are available, delivering superior service through innovative work practices and clear communication.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Finance, Law, Commerce, utility services management, or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in a similar role within the development or infrastructure industry, with a proven track record in leading teams to achieve complex outcomes.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders while managing agreements and resolving disputes.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise responses to stakeholders.
  • Understanding of economic drivers in the public sector, along with experience in account management and continuous improvement.
